Abidjan

Abidjan is the economic capital of Côte d’Ivoire, whose administrative and political capital is Yamoussoukro. It is also the most populous city in Francophone West Africa, and the second largest city and third largest city within the Francophonie. According to the country’s authorities, in 2014, it has 4 707 000 inhabitants, or 20% of the total population of the country, while it represents 60% of the country’s gross domestic product. Considered the West African cultural crossroads, Abidjan is experiencing strong growth characterized by strong industrialization and rapid urbanization.
